Walk – 18 July 2015

This walk was to raise funds for Diabetes Queensland #gogreenandgive #NDW2015 as part of the relationship established between Diabetes Qld and Bushwalking Queensland Inc. the peak body of bushwalking clubs in Queensland. Starting from Matthew Flinders Park on Steve Irwin Way, the walk followed the roads and trails to Mount Tibrogargan. The group split in two with some heading to ascend to the summit while others continued around the base.

The ascent group started with 6 but whittled down to 3 at the first rock slab, with 3 making it to the top.

The base walk went around the base of Mt Tibrogargan then out on the Trachyte Circuit to the Soldiers Memorial Walk and out to Beerburrum. The walk then followed the bike track along Steve Irwin Way back to Matthew Flinders Park.

Then the walkers headed to Mt Beerburrum and ascended the concrete track to the summit.

On return, and being a glorious day, the group then went to Mt Ngungun and claimed it following the walking track to its summit.
